It’s interesting how many gangs in pulpcovers consist of three boys like here. I like the lad’s rather spiffy boater set at a rakish angle (he must feel like the rat with a gold tooth) and the flick-knife (the popular weapon of Negro gangs, dontcha know!) barely stuck in the wood and the look on the girl’s face with her body posture–altogether a fine drawing!!

Revisiting this lovely picture I notice where the girls eyes are focused. Could she be thinking “Whassup, Motown! Is THAT what ya dick looks like?!”
