Thanks so much for your wonderful website, and for all the trouble you’ve gone to in compiling it.
I have one question. The female model used in this cover seems to appear on many covers. You can’t see a lot of her face in this cover, but even so, she’s very familiar looking.
Joseph Szokoli’s art.
Concerning Hugh Ward, he died one year earlier at age 35.
His wife, Viola Conley, certainly posed as a model and willing or not, must have been a flexible one.
Hello.
Greetings from south-east Australia.
Thanks so much for your wonderful website, and for all the trouble you’ve gone to in compiling it.
I have one question. The female model used in this cover seems to appear on many covers. You can’t see a lot of her face in this cover, but even so, she’s very familiar looking.
Do you know anything about her?
Thanks for anything you might know.
Best wishes to you.
Andrew Farquharson.
I don’t know anything about her for sure, but she must have worked for HJ Ward a great deal. If I had to take a guess, it was his wife, Viola Ward
It may be worth contacting David Saunders (son of Norman Saunders) who literally wrote the book on Ward.
