  1. Pulpcovers? Am I still on this website? This Lloyd Nolan DVD set was released in 2007. DVDs are not Pulp magazines, paperbacks, digests. Lloyd Nolan portrayed the original Mike Shayne in only one Brett Halliday plot. Afterwards, goodbye Brett / Shayne, Hollywood would write its own scripts to maximize profits.
Robert McGuiness painted his last Shayne novel cover in 1958!
I have read all 70 Shayne novels and Lloyd Nolan, the fake Shayne, cannot fill Shayne’s shoes (in the Halliday stories, that is. The last 27? 29? ghost-written stories caused Shayne’s financial demise by 1976, in my educated opinion.)
Let’s see pulpcovers and not DVD covers, please.
