The interior illos in this issue are by Joe Simon & Jack Kirby who are, to put it mildly, MUCH better know for their work in comic books than the pulps.

Try only to imagine the noise of the engines, this is clearly not a 2001 space odyssey starship, it rather looks like a tank. Plus the guy has got earphones on, something is going wrong with the electro-transmissions obviously ! And how can you ever call for help when you’re strangled from behind, instinctly struggling for your life and terrified to death by a threatening sword ?
