I called a different cover that had this image John Newton Howitt, even though it was off (as if someone had touched it up), and I now see that this was the original, untouched painting, and that that one was the touch-up. Now I understand why you left that cover untagged. Just delete that comment.
(I was so confused that Howitt had done inferior work on that cover. The leg was in a different style, etc. I had no idea that anyone touched up his covers. Now I see that all the pulp artist covers were free game for touch-ups, even masterful works such as what Howitt did.)
