This looks more like Howard V Brown’s work. He paints the same aliens on the June 1939 and August 1940 issues of Thrilling Wonder Stories. The postures of the human figures also look a lot more like Brown’s work than Bergey’s. Perhaps Brown also did the cover for the July 1940 Startling Stories cover; it’s not signed and it also looks more like his work.
