The table of contents lists the artist as Walter Baumhofer, but several people, including the authors of The Art of the Pulps: An Illustrated History, identify the artist as Howitt, and it does match his style.

Definitely not Baumhofer’s style.
John Newton Howitt, more probably (as they say further in notes), especially the same way he always draws the women’s open mouths.
This isn’t Walter Baumhofer. (Now that I’ve done a study of his art on this blog, I can definitively say this.) It’s John Newton Howitt.
