Very nice! And I actually like the larger image opening in a new tab rather than an overlay.
I see no problems with it (although sample of one…) on my Linux machine.
This is an improvement. The old system doesn’t work at all. Second or third or more images simlpy don’t open anymore. A lot of “via” links have expired too.
Kind regards, Erwin
Whatever you work out is fine with me – I just appreciate the site and all the work you put into it. Thanks so much for everything!
I agree with you. All this work has made for a great site.
works good on my ancient browser, ie11
I also don’t see the new tab as a problem. When I click on the new tab in Windows 10, I get a zoom image of only one segment of the total image. This has limited usability. There should be a scroll function for checking out details.
One change, that may or may not be expected, is that in the RSS feed the images now show up as tiny cropped square thumbnails instead of full-size images.
That’s certainly an issue
Can’t it go back to the way it was before?
Not exactly, no. The image gallery I had been using since I moved to wordpress 12 years ago hasn’t been updated in all that time, and the developer disappeared over a decade ago. I have paid some people over the years to make changes to the thing to keep it running, but last month something broke and I couldn’t get it working again (and the latest team I hired took several hundred dollars and left me hanging).
So I found a new plugin that is being actively supported and had most of the features I needed (including one I apparently asked them to add back in 2016 during a previous round of trying to find a new plugin) and was able to tweak it to get most of what I wanted (including figuring out how get the RSS feed showing large images, which required some custom work on my part).
Currently trying to get them to allow me to declare a set image size for display, rather than forcing the full-size images to load every time, but for the moment everything seems to be “good enough”. If you have specific requests, please let me know!
Please keep up your hard work. It is most appreciated.
