Unless I’m thinking of another Jassy this is a book about a Gypsy girl falling in love with the Lord of the Manor–which was also an interesting film, even though they got the Romani part slightly romanticised (as authors/directors tended to do before “Gypsy Weddings” came along to entertain us all) and cocked up the Romani lifestyle too. Anything on Gypsies (or more properly English Romnichals) and Native Americans I collect–even if it is bad literature…. So perhaps this should be tagged ” Gypsy”
Is she really a Babe?
I stand corrected
