That yellow circle (“Murder Visits the Haunted House”) looks odd–the design, placement, font and image seem much more “modern” than the 1945 date of this magazine would suggest. On the other hand, the “Case of the Mythical Lover” typeface/design are also stylish, so perhaps this magazine just had a progressive art director.
