  1. It’s unclear if the gorilla is shooting the baboon in the back or if it’s “apes vs. humans” and Leo Morey just didn’t make it clear in his painting. Probably the latter.

    The story “Genus Homo” is a precursor of “Planet of the Apes” — “…they awaken to a future in which humankind has vanished from the face of the earth, and gorillas have evolved to intelligence and become the dominant species.”

    1. Everyone but the girl is shooting fletched tranq darts into the hominid baboon, who clearly needs some tranquility.

  2. Interesting as by 1941 Asimov had not written any novels. He had a grand assortment of short stories, but no novels.
