    1. He definitely did a bunch of covers for this magazine (some with visible signatures) and this one looks a lot like his work, but I don’t have an official source.

      1. He was my first guess, too, but I’ve been wrong about his romance covers before (versus his girlie pulp work that I can see pretty definitively). Generally IDs are tough in the romances, but I’m starting to get more names to put with styles.

I’d actually grabbed this one to toss in my folder for edit work when I discovered that auction. You really do a nice job of staying on top of the smaller weekly auctions and such in your harvests here – it’s very easy to let those sneak by, and the old ghosted eBay auctions in particular I find here are great since they are so impermanent.

By the way, if I ever doubt somebody’s ID here (and I don’t especially doubt this one), it’s no slight, but only to start a conversation or raise a possibility, as it is far from an exact thing. Sometimes when you are particularly knowledgeable in an area and know the artists on the title, etc., you just KNOW. Other times it’s just a best guess, so I’ll label those in my files as “suspected” or whatnot – which is how I had this Bergey labelled :) I like to see everybody’s guesses and accept some friend’s IDs at face value because of their expertise in a certain area, but it’s tricky. Misattributions kind of linger forever but you also need to have those with a good sense to give their takes so we can get a consensus :) Anyways, I like what happens here with putting artists with covers!

        1. My auction techniques are mostly ebay alerts for certain sellers, and the vintage paper section of “New Listings” page at mycomicshop.com. which is nice because it continues to show sold items after they are sold.

If you ever have doubts about my artist attributions, please let me know. I try to only use solid IDs, but have certainly been found incorrect in the past.
