      1. No, Cherry was a U.S. citizen, born in N.Y. City.
        “Popular Publications Canada” reprinted U.S. series but with different contents, may have been the reason why they asked for different covers, nonetheless inspired by the former ones.

    They aren’t the same piece of art, but so much about them is similar that there has to be some kind of copying here.

    And then there’s the titles. “I’ll kill you often” and “two deaths have I”. Well, two deaths is more often than most people get! : – )
