In addition to the poster’s claim that this is actually produced by James Meese, with some enlargement you can make out the signature that was cropped-off on the cover. It doesn’t spell out “Meese” as well as it could have, but it does match at least one of the signatures on the Meese paintings that Heritage Auctions archives on their site.
