Here is some cover art sans covers. In fact, not only do I not have the covers, I can’t find the names of the paperback they were printed for, or in three cases even the names of the artists. However, they were just too good to not share.
If anyone has any more info about these paintings, please let me know. Enjoy!
Edmond Gray was my father. He did a number of crime noir covers, mid century.
The last one for True Gangster Stories #2 – Avril 1942
The first one is Fred Rodewald from July 1949 True Crime Cases.
The second one is Edmond Gray from August 1950 Smash Detective Crime Cases.
The third one is George Gross from April 1950 All True Fact Crime Cases.
The fourth one is Edmond Gray from unknown source.
The fifth one is Edmond Gray from April 1942 True Gangster Stories.
The fourth one is Woman Hunter/Kiss of Fire by Lorenz Heller.
It was used for Woman Hunter/Kiss of Fire in 2021 but the painting is from the 40’s or 50’s and used for something previously.
The fifth cover is by artist Harold Bennett :
